Esta semana he tenido un poco de caos con esta sección. Si os parece estaría guay ordenarlo aquí y seguro que facilita. Me parece importante rendir homenaje a los caídos, y por otro lado es una oportunidad buena de repasar bandas históricas en la radio. Así que si os parece a partir de ahora, si os enteráis de algún músico caído al que queráis escribir un obituario, este puede ser un buen sitio.

Y empiezo yo mismo contando que esta semana se nos traspapeló el nombre de David Roger Johansen:

(...) comenzó su carrera en la segunda mitad de la década de los sesenta como cantante en una banda llamada Vagabond Missionaries; posteriormente al inicio de los setenta como cantante de la banda punk New York Dolls. Con New York Dolls solo grabó dos álbumes, New York Dolls en 1973 y Too Much Too Soon en 1974. Ambos materiales sin mucho éxito comercial y duramente criticados, fueron escritos por Johansen y el guitarrista Johnny Thunders. (...)

Reggae singer Cocoa Tea has died at the age of 65 after being diagnosed with cancer in 2019. Jamaican singer-songwriter Colvin Scott, who was best known by his stage name Cocoa Tea, died in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on March 11. Scott’s wife, Malvia Scott, told the Jamaican site The Gleaner that he was struggling with pneumonia for the last six months of his life and ultimately died of a heart attack

Jesse Colin Young, best known for his biggest hit Get Together, has died at age 83. He was the founding member and singer-songwriter of the group Youngbloods, who rose to fame in the 60s. Young had been a solo artist with two albums released before he joined forces with Jerry Corbitt, Lowell ‘Banana’ Levinger and drummer Joe Bauer to form Youngbloods. Youngbloods released a cover of Chet Powers Get Together in 1967, which peaked at number five in the Billboard Hot 100 two years later. The group embodied the Woodstock generation, singing about peace, love, and brotherhood on their debut album.

Clive Revill, the Star Wars icon who originally voiced Emporer Palpatine in The Empire Strikes Back, has died at age 94.



The New Zealand-born star was a veteran of the Royal Shakespeare Company and made two popular films with Billy Wilder in the 1970s:The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes and Avanti!.

As a voice actor, he was known for playing Alfred Pennyworth in Batman: The Animated Series.
